The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has introduced six free Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses in Hindi through its SWAYAM Plus platform under the AI for All initiative. The programme aims to make AI education more accessible by enabling learners to study emerging technologies in their preferred language.
The courses are available at no cost and are designed for beginners, allowing individuals with no prior knowledge of artificial intelligence or programming to start learning AI fundamentals.
The free courses are open to a wide range of learners, including students, teachers, working professionals and anyone interested in building AI skills. By offering the content in Hindi, IIT Madras aims to reduce language barriers and encourage wider participation in technology education across the country.
The initiative is expected to benefit learners from diverse educational backgrounds, particularly those who are more comfortable studying in regional languages.
Delivered through the SWAYAM Plus platform, the courses introduce learners to the basics of artificial intelligence and its practical applications across different sectors. The curriculum is designed to help participants develop industry-relevant skills and build a strong foundation for further learning in AI.
The programme supports the growing demand for AI literacy as organisations increasingly adopt artificial intelligence across industries.
According to IIT Madras, the launch is part of its broader efforts to democratise AI education and expand access to digital learning opportunities. By making quality AI courses freely available in Hindi, the institute aims to equip more learners with future-ready skills needed in an AI-driven economy.
The initiative also reflects India’s increasing focus on building a digitally skilled workforce and ensuring that access to emerging technologies is not limited by language or location.
